Setting up your website template:

Chrome Type E1 - Image Type E125

Step 1:
EDIT FLASH ANIMATION: | Click for more details
Open the "flash.txt" file with Notepad or any plain text editor and change "Your Website Title Here" with your name or company name. Be sure not to delete the "logo=". Edit the "Allwebco" text following "&backgroundletters" with other letter or letters, or you can leave that blank. You can also edit the 4 "&textline1" lines in the flash.txt. This will update the Flash logo on all pages. If you wish to use a graphic logo, there are instructions later in this document.

THE SIDEBAR FLASH IMAGE SHOW:
The animation in the sidebar is showing 8 .jpg images. You will find these images in the "flash" folder. You can simply replace "image1.jpg" through "image8.jpg" with any standard .jpg images and the flash will update. Make your images 150 x 150 pixels in size. To turn this off edit the "sidebar-left.js".

Step 2:
EDIT COPYRIGHT: | Click for more details
Open the "copyright.js" file in Notepad or any text editor, and change the "Your Company" with your name or company name. This will update the footer info on all pages. Edit all ".js" files with a text editor.

Step 3:
EDIT CONTACT INFO: | Click for more details
Open the "phone.js" file in Notepad or any text editor and change the company name, address, phone number and e-mail address. This will update contact info on the contact page. This is done as a javascript file so your e-mail will not be read by search engines and you'll receive less spam e-mail.

Step 4:
EDIT THE CONTACT & QUOTES FORM: | Click for more details

Click for current info on setting up the template forms.

Click for info on adding more fields to the forms.

Click for changing form sizes or colors.

Because of the complexity of setting up the quote form, there are notes in the "quotes.htm" to help you cut and paste to add new form fields. The form will work with most contact form scripts however you will need help files or a sample form from the script you intend to use. Most form elements work the same way from script to script, however the hidden values usually vary. You may want to consider editing the entire page in Notepad instead of a wysiwyg editor.

If you want to use only e-mail on the contact page you can remove the contact form from the "contact.htm" between the comment tags.

Step 5:
REPLACE THE GALLERY PICTURES: | Click for more details
The best way to setup the pictures in the gallery is not to actually edit the HTML pages and change the pictures on each individual page. The fastest way is to simply replace the pictures in the "gallery" folder with your own by overwriting the files that are in there now and using the same generic names.

In the "gallery" folder, replace the 18 "Fgallery" pictures with full size photos. Replace the 18 "gallery" pictures with your thumbnails. The thumbnails are now 130 x 87 pixels and Fgallery images are 500 x 333 pixels, but you can make them any size that you prefer.

IMAGE VIEWER OPTIONS: | Click for more details
You can change some options for the gallery image viewer page (image-viewer.htm) by editing the pop-closeup.js in Notepad. Options include new browser window, or popup for the viewer. You will also want to edit the text on the "image-viewer.htm".

Step 6:
EDIT THE FAQ PAGES: | Click for more details
See your FAQ page for complete instructions.

Step 7:
EDIT THE MENUS AND DROPDOWN MENUS: | Menu Editing | Adding Pages
This template includes horizontal CSS menus. You can edit the menus as you need and add and remove links and pages. You will edit the menu.js in a text editor to change the menu names and add items. Click for CSS horizontal menu help.

Step 8:
EDIT LEFT SIDEBAR: | Click for more details
You will edit the "sidebar.htm" like any other HTML page. Editing the "sidebar.htm" will update all the pages at one time. If you need more height in the sidebar you can edit the "sidebar-frame" height style in the "common-style.css" in the "css" folder.

Step 9:
EDIT RIGHT SIDEBAR: | Click for more details
Open the "sidebar-right.js" file in Notepad or any text editor, and edit the text and links with your own text. You will also find some options at the top of this file including switching off the sidebar text and images and setting the width of the right sidebar. Editing the "sidebar-right.js" will update all HTML pages at one time.

Step 10:
EDIT PAGES: | Software choices | Notepad Editing
Edit the text on all HTML pages with your information. You can use a text editor like Notepad, Frontpage, Dreamweaver or any wysiwyg editor. Take care not to delete any of the HTML tags that surround the text. You will find notes inside each page to help you navigate. NOTE: You will not see the footer and header in some software because they are .js include files so you can globally edit your e-mail and other info.

Step 11:
SETUP THE SITE SEARCH:
Click for site search setup info. To turn off the site search edit the "search.js" and edit the show search to "no". (also in your extras folder see the search-sample-code.txt for an example of the code from Google CSE). The optional search .js files for this template will be in your "extras" folder.

Step 12:
EDIT TITLES, DESCRIPTIONS AND KEYWORDS: | Click for more details
Open each of the pages and change the titles (at the very top of the page) and also the description and the keywords with your product or service info. You can edit one page and copy and paste to the other pages. Be careful to only change what's inside the "" so you don't disturb the html code. Page titles are important so your site will get a good listing at Google or MSN and other search engines. Click for optimization help.

Step 13:
UPLOAD: | Click for more details
Upload the pages on to your hosting company's server using ftp software or Windows Explorer or your control panel. Be sure to upload the "picts", "gallery", "flash" and "css" folders and all files and subfolders in these folders.

Options:

USING A GRAPHIC LOGO:
You can replace the Flash logo with a graphic logo: Delete or rename the "header.js", then rename the "graphic_logo_header.js" to "header.js". In the picts folder you will find a graphic called "logo.jpg". Edit this graphic with your logo. The "logo.jpg" is now 50 pixels high. You can make this image any size you would like, if you resize this image you may need to move the date in the header.js. The background color for the graphic logo header can be edited in the header.js. The Flash logo background color is edited in your ".css" file and your header.js.

CHANGING THE TEMPLATE COLOR THEME: | Click for more details
Open the "css.js" in the "css" folder and edit the "var colorstyle" to any color you would like to use. This will be edited with a color name. There is a key at the top of the "css.js" so you know what colors are available.

COLORS AND FONTS: | Click for more details
This is a Chrome color template. Other than the fonts in the Flash header all template colors and fonts will be edited in the "common-style.css" in the "css" folder and also the color .css files in the "css" folder. Color themes can be changed in the "css.js" in the "css" folder. Click to view support details.

IMAGES USED FOR COLORS: | Click for more details
The images used for the template colors will be in the "picts" folder and then inside the appropriate color folder. EXAMPLE: All images used in the "blue" theme if you set the "css.js" to blue will be in the "picts/blue" folder. Some .PSD color images for editing only (not used on the template) may be in the "extras" folder.

CHANGING / ADDING MENU BUTTONS:
See the "EDIT THE MENUS AND DROPDOWN MENUS" section above.

GALLERY MENU: | Click for more details
The "menu_gallery.js" is used to show the right side gallery images with links on the gallery pages. See the notes inside this file to add more gallery links.

PICTURES: | Click for more details
You can replace the pictures with your own. The pictures are now 750 x 125 pixels but you can use any size picture you want and the pages will size them to fit automatically. Each page has it's own picture which is named according to the page it's on. You will find all pictures in the "picts" folder.

ADDING PAGES: | Click for more details
You can add pages to your website by copying and pasting any one of the pages and renaming it to whatever you need. You can then add links from the other pages or even add the page to the menu by opening the menu.js and copying and pasting one of the buttons below another.

SITE MAP PAGE:
The "site_map.htm" is linked from the index.html. It is best not to remove this link so search engines can find your site map and properly list all your pages when users search at major search engines.

PAGE HEIGHTS:
So all your pages will maintain a standard height, pageheight code is included in the "common-style.css" in the "css" folder. You can edit the ".pageheight" class near the top of this file to change the height.

-BLACK FLASH LOGO OPTION:
In the "extras" folder you will find a "logo-BLACK.swf" and "faqlogo-BLACK.swf". These are Flash header logos with black fonts instead of white. To use these, delete or rename the .swf files in the main template folder, then copy these into the main folder and rename them to "logo.swf" and "faqlogo.swf".

EXTRAS FOLDER FILES:
The files in the extras folder are optional files. You can use any of these files as indicated elsewhere on this help page and related support pages. This folder does not need to be uploaded to your hosting area.

PAYPAL FORM SETUP | Click for more details
